Case Study
Allegiance Bank
How we used SEO Strategies to Create More Than 2.7 Million Search Impressions for Houston’s Largest Community Bank.
Results
The SEO landscape is constantly evolving, presenting new opportunities as well as new challenges. Changes in the search engine algorithm coupled with new competitor activity require us to stay nimble and dynamic in our approach. Our initial focus was “local SEO” related. However, after establishing a strong foundation for Allegiance Bank’s online presence, we have shifted our efforts to deeper “service offering” keyword targeting. Consistent, ongoing research helps us identify the phrases competitors are ranking for that we have the strongest chance of competing with organically. We continually identify opportunities to boost impressions for searches related to target phrases that align with Allegiance Bank products and services. The Raven Creative team works closely with Allegiance Bank to set SEO performance goals that guide our strategy and set the bank up for long-term SEO success.

Client Objective
Since 2007, Allegiance Bank has been serving the Greater Houston area and neighboring communities by providing full-service banking solutions to serve the needs of owner-operated businesses. Over the years, Allegiance has grown to be Houston’s largest community bank, with 26 locations.
The overall goal for this project was to increase organic traffic to allegiancebank.com. When you increase organic traffic to your website, it not only connects your business with a larger group of potential clients but signals to search engines that your content is valuable.
Our team focused on driving quality, targeted leads to the bank. We started with an audit of Allegiance Bank’s local SEO and began building an SEO strategy around generating impressions from “small business banking” search phrases. Before implementing an SEO strategy, allegiancebank.com averaged approximately 5,212 organic users per month. Now the site averages over 7,500 organic users a month, a 45.2% increase in organic traffic.
How We Did It: Building a Solid Foundation
As website optimization experts, we know that building a solid SEO foundation and generating ROI-worthy results does not happen overnight. As a part of laying the foundational groundwork, we remedied existing on-site issues. Once we completed on-site corrections and set up goal conversions, we began our off-site strategy.
Audience Research, Keyword Analysis and Content Strategy
The biggest component of our SEO strategy was intensive research. To help attract quality leads to the website, we completed ongoing keyword investigation, identifying seasonal trends while continually re-evaluating data to identify new keyword opportunities. This research gave us insight into what Allegiance Bank’s target customer was searching for so we could position the bank as the solution. With this data, we then implemented these keywords and target phrases in meta descriptions, alt text, excerpts, and title tags. We then used the data to formulate an SEO content strategy for landing pages and blog posts that supported Allegiance Bank’s marketing goals. Throughout the course of 2021, we earned very competitive page one phrases, including “banks in Houston,” “banks in Katy,” and “banks in Stafford.”
