Houston Energy + Climate Startup Week
Developing widespread brand recognition and awareness among key stakeholders for Houston’s Energy + Climate Startup Week.
The Challenge
Houston Energy + Climate Startup Week needed to launch its inaugural event – a first-of-its-kind gathering in Houston uniting global startups, investors, and industry leaders to showcase energy transition innovations. With only 8-10 weeks to execute, we faced the challenge of establishing a commanding brand presence that would position Houston as the world’s energy capital while attracting diverse participants around a shared vision. The week’s dynamic events, pitch competitions, and networking opportunities aimed to connect local innovators with global opportunities and cement Houston’s leadership in the energy transition ecosystem.

What We Did
We crafted the entire brand identity and digital presence from the ground up, translating Houston’s energy innovation leadership into a cohesive visual ecosystem. This included developing a distinctive logo with comprehensive brand guidelines, building a dynamic microsite as the central hub, creating engaging social media assets, and designing impactful marketing collateral from one-pagers to event signage and merchandise. Each element was carefully designed to capture the pioneering spirit of Houston’s energy sector while appealing to a global audience of innovators, investors, and industry leaders.

The brand bridged the startup and corporate energy worlds through a clean, modern visual design. The logo incorporated Houston’s skyline, while blue-green gradients and geometric shapes conveyed energy and innovation. Friendly typography balanced corporate professionalism with startup approachability.

We created a distinctive merchandise collection including t-shirts, tote bags, and event badges to build brand visibility across the energy ecosystem. While also developing social media content and event materials, the branded merchandise served as walking billboards that unified the experience for organizers, volunteers, and participants throughout the week.
